  1. Is anyone taking students to the PA Computer Fair Contest at BCIU which is held in April?
  2. Review the official Computer/Tech Ed Dep't Home Page. LM is the curator.
  3. Discuss use of flex days next summer to meet as a K-12 Computer Dept. -9th grade credit-by-exam, 8th & 9th scope & sequence, getting network ready with new PC's, use of online exam view testing, any other ideas? If not, you're "stuck" with the district options or not having flex days at all.
  4. Review how to zip files, using VPN, etc.
  5. (BA, LM, CM) Discuss status of 8-9th scope & sequence.
  6. Next meeting will be held on Mar 29 at 2:30 pm in Room 202.
  7. (BA, LM, CM) Discuss the format, content, and delivery issues of the Applied I Course-by-Credit exam. As long as a student has an A in 8th grade Word Processing and the instructor's approval, they should be able to take the exam by arrangement

  1. Review network policy, backups, synchronization, how to zip files, how to scan files ("symantec"), attendance, etc.

  3. Summer Spartan Academy ideas?
  4. Review 1st Quarter grade breakdown.
  5. Budget will be done 2 months earlier this year.
  6. New exam schedule places us on 1st or 3rd day.
  7. Review Firefox web browser.
  8. (BA, LM, CM) What to do about 7th grade course & continuity within 8th & 9th grade courses.
  9. Discuss PSSA results
  10. Update your www.wyoarea.org teacher page from www.wyooarea.org/private

Sept 28, 2005:

  1. Review network policy, backups, synchronization, how to zip files, how to scan files ("symantec"), attendance, etc.
  2. Learn how to use WinZip to send and receive compressed folders & files.
  3. It's been requested that teachers give enough work to ISS students. Is there any general kind of non-computer work that ISS students could have to do?
  4. Oct 10 In-Service is probably going to be devoted to teacher web pages, dep't web pages & general laptop use.
  5. Give a copy of your teaching schedule to CM.
  6. Update your www.wyoarea.org teacher page from www.wyooarea.org/private
  7. Are there any problems with class size and # of computers in your lab?
  8. Textbook inventory - BA (? Excel; ? Word; ? Access, ? Dreamweaver), LM (? Excel; ? Word; ? Access), CM (? VB; ? CCE; ? Big Java)
  9. Does anyone want to speak at the NECC conference in San Diego on July 4-7, 2006? The "call for participation" deadline is Oct 5. MF & CM had a good time at NECC in Philly in June.

  11. Review how to build an online test with ExamView.
  12. Review wikipedia.
  13. (BA, LM) Are any students only taking Applied I or Applied II, 4 days per week? If so, did you approve the situation?
