The paper must be more than 1 page at 1.5 line spacing with default page margins typed in Times New Roman with font size 12. You may have to give a brief oral presentation on your topic as well.

A/ Software Company - Research a software company that creates and/or supports a major commercial database platform such as Oracle, Informix, IBM, Microsoft, etc. Summarize the activities Explain the particular database platform especially any unique characteristics. Provide hyperlinks to web pages that explain the products and/or services associated with the database technology. List any Fortune 500 clients that use the technology and cite anything else that is interesting about the company and its database technology.

B/ Database Career - Research a database-related career such as database administrator or database engineer. Describe the educational background and job duties that the employee typically has. Describe 3 or more current employment opportunities in this employment position at an employment search website such as monster.com and describe local job opportunities including salary and requirements.

C/ College Database Major - Research college majors or concentrations within a major at 3 or more colleges that are related to database technology. Explain the college major (name, department, number of credits, etc) and list the core classes that have to be taken.
